Nintendo has finally confirmed that its next Nintendo Direct presentation will take place on September 12, 2025, at 6 AM PT. The announcement, made through Nintendo’s official social media channels and the Nintendo Today app, promises a 60-minute showcase filled with new updates, trailers, and possibly some long-awaited surprises.

Speculation about a September Direct had been building for weeks. Content creator SwitchForce first hinted at a mid-September broadcast, and the rumor gained traction when respected leaker NateTheHate backed the claims. Their track record for accurate Nintendo leaks has only fueled anticipation among fans eager to see what’s next for the company.

What Might Be Revealed?

While Nintendo has not confirmed which games will be featured, leaks suggest the Direct could highlight “three seven” games. This cryptic phrase has led to widespread fan theories, with some pointing to Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade finally arriving on the Switch platform. Others speculate the reference could involve the rumored 007 First Light: Specialist Edition, reportedly in development for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, expected to launch in March 2026.

Another name floating around fan discussions is Pokémon Legends: Z-A. However, since Nintendo usually reserves Pokémon reveals for Pokémon Presents broadcasts, this might be less likely.

Hopes for Metroid and Mario

One of the most anticipated announcements is still Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, which fans have been waiting on for years. Many also wonder if Nintendo will use this Direct to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. Yet, according to NateTheHate, this showcase may focus strictly on game presentations, saving anniversary celebrations for a future event.

Why This Direct Matters

Nintendo Directs often set the tone for the company’s release calendar. With the Switch 2 on the horizon and several major franchises awaiting updates, this September event could be one of the most important presentations in recent memory. Fans have already started setting YouTube notifications to ensure they don’t miss the live broadcast on September 12.

Regardless of which games appear, expectations are sky-high. Whether the rumors of “three seven” titles prove true or not, Nintendo seems prepared to make headlines once again.
