Apex Legends has received a fresh update on August 13, 2025, aimed at improving gameplay and addressing several bugs that emerged with the start of Season 26. While not a massive content patch, the adjustments target important gameplay issues and should enhance the overall experience for both casual and competitive players.

The new season has already brought plenty of excitement for the Apex Legends community. Alongside the introduction of a new Legend and the permanent Wildcard mode, Respawn Entertainment also implemented balance changes across multiple Legends and weapons. However, following the rollout, players reported a few unexpected issues that affected certain abilities and game mechanics.

Legend-Specific Adjustments
One of the most notable fixes in the update involves Caustic. At the beginning of Season 26, his Gas Fighter upgrade was unintentionally lasting longer than intended, giving him a stronger-than-expected presence in matches. The August update has corrected this, returning Caustic’s kit to the intended balance.

Other Legends also received attention. Bangalore’s upgraded smoke was previously capable of destroying deployables through walls, which was not intended; the patch now ensures that her abilities interact correctly with the environment. Additionally, players using Sparrow in the Wildcard mode noticed inconsistencies with the Bocek, sometimes receiving fewer arrows than intended. This issue has now been addressed. Respawn has also noted that another minor update is planned to further correct Bangalore’s electric smoke, ensuring damage against enemy deployables remains consistent.

Additional Fixes and Quality-of-Life Updates
Beyond Legend abilities, the August 13 update fixed several general gameplay issues. Challenges in Mixtape mode were not tracking properly, loot bins occasionally spawned in incorrect locations, and a minor improvement was made to the new Amp system: enemy health bars now display an icon when a player has an Amp equipped. This small addition could provide valuable intel during matches, helping teams make more informed decisions.

Looking Ahead
With Season 26 still in its early stages, the meta is likely to continue evolving. Characters like Bangalore and Caustic have seen increased use following their adjustments, while other Legends, such as Ash, remain popular picks. Respawn’s commitment to frequent updates ensures that additional tweaks can be expected if the balance of certain abilities or gameplay mechanics requires further attention.

Patch Notes Summary – August 13, 2025
