World of Warcraft: Midnight is steadily revealing more details about its upcoming content, and one of the most talked-about additions so far is the new Haranir allied race. Found deep within the roots of Azeroth, the Haranir are a mysterious subterranean people whose close bond with nature grants them a unique mix of combat and healing abilities.

According to new findings from the WoW: Midnight Alpha, players have uncovered information on the Haranir’s racial traits, which include both passive bonuses and active abilities designed to reflect their organic connection to the world’s life force. While Blizzard has yet to officially confirm the details, the early data offers an exciting look at what this new race will bring to World of Warcraft once Midnight launches.

Haranir Racial Traits Overview

The Haranir racial kit consists of a blend of offensive, defensive, and utility-based abilities. These traits emphasize the race’s spiritual link to Azeroth’s forests and ancient roots, while also giving players new tactical options in both PvE and PvP gameplay.

Active Abilities

  1. Thorn Bloom – A hybrid ability that simultaneously damages nearby enemies while healing allies within the same radius. This makes it a versatile tool in dungeons, raids, and world encounters.

  2. Rootwalking – The Haranir’s signature teleport ability allows them to travel instantly through the living roots of world trees, creating a fast and thematic way to navigate terrain.

Passive Traits

  • Nature’s Precision – Increases Herbalism skill and Finesse, improving both gathering efficiency and resource yield.

  • Verdant Spirit – Boosts critical damage and healing output, rewarding aggressive yet supportive playstyles.

  • Symbiosis of the Wilds – Grants extra experience and bonus damage against beasts, elementals, and aberrations, making Haranir characters particularly strong in nature-heavy zones.

These racials may still change before World of Warcraft: Midnight officially launches, but they already show Blizzard’s effort to make the Haranir stand out among existing allied races like the Nightborne, Vulpera, and Mechagnomes.

Haranir in the Midnight Alpha

While players can currently spot the Haranir’s allied race banner in the Midnight Alpha outside the embassies of Stormwind and Orgrimmar, the race itself is not yet playable. Blizzard has confirmed that testing for the Haranir will begin during the beta phase, meaning fans will need to wait a little longer to get hands-on experience with the subterranean race.

Those eager to try them out early can opt into the WoW: Midnight beta on the official Blizzard website or purchase the Epic Edition of the expansion, which guarantees beta access.

How to Unlock the Haranir Allied Race

Once World of Warcraft: Midnight launches, the Haranir won’t be immediately available to play. Like all allied races, they’ll need to be unlocked through in-game progression. While Blizzard hasn’t released specific requirements yet, it’s expected that players will need to:

  • Complete the main Midnight storyline,

  • Finish a related questline exploring Haranir culture and history,

  • And achieve reputation milestones with their faction.

Given their deep connection to nature and the subterranean environments of Midnight, players can likely expect questlines involving the healing of corrupted ecosystems and the restoration of the world’s roots.

A Promising Addition to Azeroth

The introduction of the Haranir adds another fascinating layer to World of Warcraft’s already vast roster of playable races. Their racial abilities encourage both teamwork and tactical creativity, offering something new for healers, DPS, and even gathering-focused players.

As the Midnight expansion approaches, fans are eagerly waiting for official confirmation of the Haranir’s final design, customization options, and lore integration. If Blizzard’s early direction holds true, the Haranir could easily become one of the most popular allied races ever introduced in World of Warcraft.
