New PS5 Pro Model and DualSense V3 Details Leak Online

Fresh reports suggest that Sony is preparing yet another revision of its PlayStation 5 Pro console, accompanied by a brand-new DualSense V3 controller. While the PS5 Pro only launched in November 2024 at $699 and later saw its retail price rise to $749.99 in mid-2025, rumors now point to an updated version currently in development. The revised console, said to carry the model number CFI-7121, is described as a minor hardware refresh, but the accompanying controller may introduce one of the most requested upgrades yet.

According to Polish outlet PPE, Sony’s next controller iteration will feature a removable battery, marking the first time a first-party PlayStation gamepad has offered this level of flexibility. The upgrade would directly address one of the most consistent criticisms of the DualSense lineup—its limited battery life. A swappable power solution could provide players with extended play sessions without relying solely on charging cables or docks.

This leak gains credibility thanks to PPE’s recent track record. Earlier in September, the outlet correctly reported that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 would arrive on PlayStation 5, a reveal confirmed six days later at Sony’s State of Play. The same source, known as Graczdari, has also been credited with accurate leaks in the past, including the reveal of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered physical edition box before its official announcement.

While the PS5 Pro refresh is expected to be a relatively minor revision compared to the 2024 launch model, the addition of the DualSense V3 may be more impactful for players. The current DualSense has been praised for its adaptive triggers and haptic feedback but continues to face complaints regarding short battery duration. A removable battery design would not only extend usability but also bring Sony in line with competitors like Microsoft, whose Xbox controllers have long offered swappable batteries.

Sony has yet to officially confirm the existence of the PS5 Pro revision or the DualSense V3. If true, the announcement could align with the company’s usual hardware refresh cycle, potentially being revealed at a major gaming event in late 2025 or early 2026. Until then, fans will have to rely on insider reports and leaks to piece together what Sony has planned for the next stage of the PlayStation 5 generation.
