Borderlands 4 Players Unlock Free Rafa “Savings Savior” Skin Through SHiFT Code

Borderlands 4 continues to keep its community engaged with a fresh round of SHiFT rewards. The latest freebie is the “Savings Savior” skin for Rafa, one of the newest vault hunters introduced in Gearbox Software’s chaotic looter-shooter. The skin became available after the Borderlands 4 community smashed the latest YOLT challenge, surpassing the target by millions of completions.

For longtime fans of the franchise, SHiFT codes are nothing new. Since Borderlands 2 launched back in 2012, Gearbox has been running the SHiFT rewards program, providing fans with free in-game content ranging from golden keys and loot to exclusive cosmetic skins. While golden keys have historically been the most popular perk—allowing players to unlock golden chests packed with high-value gear—the program has evolved to also highlight playable characters through cosmetic rewards.

🟣 Rafa’s Free “Savings Savior” Skin

The official SHiFT code to redeem Rafa’s new outfit is:

TZXT3-XJXCB-CXBJW-BTTJT-9SK6B

Players can redeem this code either directly in Borderlands 4’s in-game SHiFT menu or through the official SHiFT website. The reward is available until December 31, 2030, giving fans plenty of time to claim it.

This cosmetic was designed as a direct nod to Rafa’s introduction video, YOLT, and highlights his backstory. The outfit bears the insignia of Tediore, Rafa’s former employer, and adds gritty details such as bloodstains to emphasize his darker past as a soldier. For many fans, this isn’t just a simple cosmetic—it’s a way to explore more of Rafa’s narrative depth while also giving him a visually distinct look compared to his default design.

🟣 How the Community Earned It

From September 26 to September 28, Borderlands 4 players rallied to complete over 23.4 million “second winds”—reviving themselves from near death—which was 3.4 million more than the initial target. Once the milestone was reached, Gearbox released the SHiFT code as a celebration of the community’s overwhelming success.

🟣 What’s Next for Borderlands 4

While Rafa’s skin is the reward of the moment, fans are also looking ahead to the game’s expanding vault hunter lineup. At the Tokyo Game Show 2025, Gearbox confirmed that the first new DLC vault hunter, C4SH, will arrive in early 2026 as part of the Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned story expansion. C4SH is expected to shake up gameplay variety and potentially challenge Rafa’s current popularity ranking among Borderlands 4 players.

Until then, Rafa’s new “Savings Savior” look gives fans a reason to revisit one of Borderlands 4’s standout characters while showing off a community achievement that reflects the series’ fun, chaotic energy.
