While most gamers assume Rockstar Games is fully focused on delivering Grand Theft Auto 6 after a twelve-year gap since GTA 5, it turns out the studio has multiple projects underway. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick recently hinted in an interview that Rockstar has “a lot of other things going on” in addition to the long-awaited GTA 6.

The Grand Theft Auto series has always been known for its lengthy development cycles, with each installment receiving years of polish before release. GTA 6, revealed in December 2023, was initially scheduled for Fall 2025 but was later pushed to May 26, 2026, as Rockstar stated it needed more time to meet its own high standards.

According to Zelnick, while GTA 6 remains Rockstar’s primary focus, other projects are also in development. He didn’t specify what these might be, but speculation among fans ranges from a next-gen version of Red Dead Redemption 2 to the long-requested return of Bully. Rumors about a native PS5 and Xbox Series X/S version of RDR2—with visual upgrades and gameplay enhancements—have been circulating for months, though nothing has been confirmed.

Whatever these additional projects are, they’ll likely remain under wraps for some time. Zelnick also reassured fans that GTA 6’s current release date is on track, stating his “level of conviction” about the schedule remains very high, making another delay seem unlikely.
