During the most recent Minecraft Live 2025 showcase, Mojang pulled back the curtain on a wave of exciting content headed to the game over the coming months. The spotlight announcement was the September 30, 2025 release date for The Copper Age, the highly anticipated next game drop. In addition to this major update, Mojang also revealed a brand-new underwater expansion called Mounts of Mayhem, a fishing-inspired add-on with a real-world conservation twist, and an upcoming Dragon Ball Z crossover that has fans buzzing.

The Copper Age Arrives September 30

The Copper Age update is set to bring a long list of new features to Minecraft’s base game. Among the highlights is the copper golem, a companion mob designed to help players organize and manage their bases more efficiently. Players will also be able to craft copper tools, weapons, and armor, as well as experiment with the new shelf block. While many of these features have been available through Snapshots and Betas, they will soon be accessible to everyone once the update officially launches.

Mounts of Mayhem Expands the World

Later in 2025, Mojang will roll out Mounts of Mayhem, the fourth game drop of the year. This expansion will introduce the nautilus, a rideable underwater mob offering perks like speed boosts and extended breathing underwater. Other new content includes the spear weapon, which deals extra damage based on player speed, and new undead mobs like the zombie horse and zombie nautilus. The game drop will also feature nautilus armor, giving players more variety in both combat and exploration.

Friendly Fishing Add-On

Minecraft Live also showcased Friendly Fishing, a new add-on available through the Marketplace. Developed in partnership with Conservation International, this project not only lets players fish for a wide variety of aquatic creatures (including sharks), but also supports real-world environmental causes. A portion of proceeds from this add-on will go directly toward conservation efforts.

Dragon Ball Z Joins Minecraft

To top things off, Mojang confirmed a Dragon Ball Z collaboration arriving on Bedrock Edition later in 2025. This DLC will bring content from the iconic anime series into Minecraft, giving players a fresh way to experience the world of Dragon Ball. As a bonus, players can already claim a free Super Saiyan Hair cosmetic in the Marketplace today.

Looking Ahead

With two major game drops still to come before the end of the year, Mojang is proving that 2025 is one of the busiest and most ambitious years yet for Minecraft. Between The Copper Age, Mounts of Mayhem, Friendly Fishing, and the Dragon Ball Z crossover, fans can look forward to months of fresh content and exciting updates.
