Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set to revive one of the most beloved multiplayer maps in franchise history. Developer Treyarch Studios and publisher Activision have officially confirmed that Nuketown will return to the game on November 20, just days after its global launch.
Fans won’t have to wait long to revisit the classic map, as Black Ops 7 launches on November 14 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. While the game’s pre-release beta already received positive feedback from players, the return of Nuketown is likely to be one of the biggest moments of the game’s early post-launch period.
Nuketown Returns in Black Ops 7
The legendary Nuketown 2025, originally featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, will officially go live on November 20 as part of Black Ops 7’s early post-launch update. Beyond the excitement of Nuketown’s comeback, Treyarch has also unveiled several details about what players can expect in Black Ops 7’s first major season. Season 1 will introduce seven new weapons, a variety of cosmetic rewards, and several new game modes.
Perhaps more importantly, Treyarch confirmed that Black Ops 7 will return to a traditional matchmaking system, removing the controversial disbanding lobbies that have frustrated players for years. This change, along with the reintroduction of persistent matchmaking, is being celebrated as a return to form for the series.
Zombies Fans Get Three New Maps in Season 1
Treyarch also revealed major updates for Black Ops 7’s Zombies mode, which remains a staple of the franchise. The studio announced that Season 1 will introduce three new Zombies maps, including two survival-style experiences.
