Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set to revive one of the most beloved multiplayer maps in franchise history. Developer Treyarch Studios and publisher Activision have officially confirmed that Nuketown will return to the game on November 20, just days after its global launch.

Fans won’t have to wait long to revisit the classic map, as Black Ops 7 launches on November 14 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. While the game’s pre-release beta already received positive feedback from players, the return of Nuketown is likely to be one of the biggest moments of the game’s early post-launch period.

Nuketown Returns in Black Ops 7

The legendary Nuketown 2025, originally featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, will officially go live on November 20 as part of Black Ops 7’s early post-launch update. Treyarch teased the map’s return earlier this month, hinting that it would arrive “shortly after launch.” That teaser has now been confirmed alongside the reveal of the game’s Season 1 roadmap.

Nuketown’s addition marks the first of several nostalgic returns Treyarch is planning for Black Ops 7. The studio also confirmed that Season 1 will include a mix of fan-favorite maps and all-new locations designed specifically for the latest entry in the series. Players can look forward to the return of Standoff and Meltdown, both iconic arenas from Black Ops 2, alongside brand-new maps titled Fate, Utopia, Odysseus, and Yakei.

New Season 1 Content and Classic Features Return

Beyond the excitement of Nuketown’s comeback, Treyarch has also unveiled several details about what players can expect in Black Ops 7’s first major season. Season 1 will introduce seven new weapons, a variety of cosmetic rewards, and several new game modes.

Perhaps more importantly, Treyarch confirmed that Black Ops 7 will return to a traditional matchmaking system, removing the controversial disbanding lobbies that have frustrated players for years. This change, along with the reintroduction of persistent matchmaking, is being celebrated as a return to form for the series.

Zombies Fans Get Three New Maps in Season 1

Treyarch also revealed major updates for Black Ops 7’s Zombies mode, which remains a staple of the franchise. The studio announced that Season 1 will introduce three new Zombies maps, including two survival-style experiences.

  • Astra Malorum, a brand-new round-based Zombies map, will lead the charge.

  • Exit 115, a survival map, will be available from the start of the season.

  • Zarya Cosmodrome, another survival map, will arrive in the mid-season update.

In addition, Treyarch confirmed that all Field Upgrades and Ammo Mods from Black Ops 6 will make their way into Black Ops 7 during Season 1, ensuring continuity for long-time players.

A Promising Start for Black Ops 7

With a classic map returning, a rich mix of new content, and player-requested features making a comeback, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 appears to be off to a strong start. The combination of nostalgia and innovation could give the franchise the boost it needs as it heads into the holiday season.

As for fans eager to relive the chaos of Nuketown — the wait is almost over. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launches on November 14, with Nuketown arriving six days later, on November 20.
