Phasmophobia’s Grafton Farmhouse Overhaul Arrives on August 12

Phasmophobia fans have a big date to mark—August 12. On that day, the game will introduce a major rework of one of its iconic maps, bringing fresh scares and new details for ghost hunters to explore. Since its early access launch in September 2020, Phasmophobia has become a co-op horror favorite, later expanding to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2024. The game challenges teams of up to four players to investigate haunted locations, using various tools to identify the type of ghost lurking within.

After recently rolling out a July 2025 patch that added new recordable video evidence and gameplay tweaks following the Chronicle update, developer Kinetic Games is now preparing for another content drop. The update refined sound recording mechanics and introduced visual cues to help players capture evidence more effectively, alongside adjusting keybinds for smoother journal navigation.

Grafton Farmhouse Redesign Brings New Horrors

The upcoming Grafton Farmhouse rework will breathe new life into the eerie rural map. Players can expect decaying environments filled with damaged electrics, collapsed ceilings, and dense layers of dust. New areas like an unsettling attic space and a seamstress’s workshop will be added, expanding the house’s creepy atmosphere. This overhaul follows in the footsteps of previous location reworks like Bleasdale Farmhouse and the Point Hope lighthouse, enhancing environmental storytelling and immersion.

In addition to Grafton’s revamp, Kinetic Games has teased the arrival of another new map later this year—Nell’s Diner. This upcoming location will take players to a rundown, retro-inspired restaurant, adding a smaller, more intimate space to the roster. While a release date hasn’t been announced, the map’s compact design is likely a direct response to feedback from players who prefer tighter, more focused maps over sprawling locations like Sunny Meadows or the old High School.

Big Things Coming in 2026 with Horror 2.0

Looking further ahead, Phasmophobia’s much-anticipated Horror 2.0 update is scheduled for 2026. According to Kinetic Games founder Daniel Knight, this update will overhaul the game to feel “like an entirely different experience.” Major changes to the game’s audio system are also planned, aiming to heighten the fear factor and bring a new level of tension to ghost hunts.

With exciting map reworks and ambitious updates on the horizon, Phasmophobia fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming months and beyond.
