Developer TVGS has given fans an early look at the next major feature coming to the indie hit Schedule 1. Despite the Cartel update having just launched less than a day ago, the studio is already working on expanding the game with a graffiti system, promising another layer of creativity and player expression.

The Cartel update, released on August 13 through the Steam beta branch, introduced a host of new content, including the rival Benzies family gang. Players can now engage in ambushes, dead-drop thefts, dealer robberies, and even navigate cartel relations under temporary truces. These additions significantly deepen the gameplay, giving fans new challenges and strategies to explore.

Next Update Will Bring Graffiti to Schedule 1
In a recent social media post, TVGS shared a short clip showcasing the new graffiti mechanics in action. While the feature is slated to appear in the next beta release, the developer noted that it might instead arrive in the following update. Although no exact release date has been announced, players can likely expect it within the next few weeks, keeping excitement high following the Cartel update.

Beyond graffiti, TVGS has already hinted at other ambitious plans for Schedule 1, including major map expansions, Steam Deck support, and a console release later this year. Details on which consoles will be supported remain scarce, but the developer is actively working on porting the game alongside optimizing it for the Steam Deck.

Indie Success Amid Legal Scrutiny
While Schedule 1 has become one of 2025’s standout indie titles, it hasn’t been without controversy. Shortly after its Steam launch, publisher Movie Games S.A. reportedly opened an investigation into potential copyright concerns, citing similarities with Drug Deal Simulator, including elements of plot, gameplay, and interface. As of now, no official actions have been taken, and TVGS continues to focus on expanding and improving the game for players.

With the Cartel update fresh and new features on the horizon, Schedule 1’s trajectory looks promising, solidifying its place as one of the most talked-about indie games of the year.
