With the global reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 just around the corner, Activision has quietly slipped a handful of hidden rewards into Warzone, including a secret XM4 Assault Rifle blueprint. While there are no official in-game instructions, players have already cracked the easter egg and figured out how to unlock these exclusive cosmetics.
The first teaser for Black Ops 7 dropped during Xbox’s June showcase, confirming its direct connection to Black Ops 2 and reintroducing familiar faces like David Mason and villain Raul Menendez. The game is set in 2035, picking up the Cold War narrative threads, though gameplay footage is still under wraps until the full reveal on August 19.

How to Unlock the XM4 Black Ops 7 Blueprint in Warzone
To build hype ahead of the reveal, Warzone now features rare red-glowing chests scattered around Verdansk. When opened, these chests spawn red butterfly swarms. Players need to run through the butterflies to collect them:
-
5 butterflies unlock an emote.
-
30 butterflies unlock the Prismatic Tracer blueprint for the XM4.
Additionally, visiting the TV Station POI rewards players with a hidden Raul Menendez teaser video. Simply watching the clip grants a free Black Ops 7 calling card, further tying Warzone’s ongoing narrative to the upcoming game.
What’s Next for Black Ops 7
For now, these are the only secret rewards available, though Activision will likely add more as the reveal approaches. Black Ops 7 doesn’t yet have an official release date, but rumors point to November 14, 2025. The game is confirmed for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, but there’s still no confirmation of a Nintendo Switch 2 version—despite Microsoft’s 10-year deal to bring Call of Duty titles to Nintendo platforms.
With Gamescom around the corner, fans can expect even more news soon. Until then, Warzone players can enjoy hunting down these hidden cosmetics as a preview of what’s to come.
