Magic: The Gathering is preparing a new Secret Lair x PlayStation crossover drop that brings several iconic PlayStation characters into the world of collectible cards — including Atsu, the fierce protagonist from Ghost of Yotei. The collaboration between Wizards of the Coast and Sucker Punch Productions celebrates some of Sony’s most beloved heroes, uniting gaming and tabletop fans under one exclusive release scheduled for October 27, 2025.
The Ghost of Yotei collaboration comes just weeks after the game’s record-breaking launch on October 2 for PlayStation 5. Within its first three days, the title reportedly sold over two million copies, nearly matching the opening success of Ghost of Tsushima, which surpassed 13 million total sales by 2024. This rapid success has positioned Ghost of Yotei as one of Sony’s strongest new-generation releases — and now, its legacy continues through an entirely new medium.
Atsu Joins Magic: The Gathering as a Legendary Creature
According to Wizards of the Coast, Atsu’s debut in Magic: The Gathering will come in the form of a Legendary Creature — Human Rogue card. The design, developed in close collaboration with Ghost of Yotei’s creative team, features a distinct gameplay mechanic inspired by Atsu’s stealth and precision in combat. The card will cost one blue mana and one generic mana, and its ability prevents opponents from blocking creatures with a power or toughness of one — a perfect nod to the protagonist’s swift and unpredictable fighting style.
Wizards of the Coast revealed that the collaboration had been in development long before Ghost of Yotei’s official announcement. According to IGN, the idea was first presented to Sony Interactive Entertainment, which then brought it to Jason Connell, the game’s creative director at Sucker Punch Productions. Connell reportedly approved immediately, calling it a “natural fit” for the world of Magic.

The upcoming Secret Lair x PlayStation set won’t just feature Atsu. Other legendary PlayStation icons will also be represented, including Ghost of Tsushima’s Jin Sakai, The Last of Us’ Joel and Ellie, God of War’s Kratos and Atreus, Horizon’s Aloy, and Uncharted’s Nathan Drake.
Jin Sakai’s card, for example, reflects his balanced approach to combat, boasting two power and four toughness, and allowing players to draw a card whenever combat damage is dealt. He also carries a unique ability to grant “Ghost” or “Standoff” to allied creatures — directly tying into his dual fighting styles from Ghost of Tsushima.
Meanwhile, the Last of Us and God of War duo cards highlight the deep emotional and narrative themes that defined their franchises. Fans can expect stunning card art featuring PlayStation Studios’ signature cinematic aesthetic, alongside mechanics that embody each character’s personality and lore.
