A recent job listing from Naughty Dog has fans buzzing about the possibility of a new trailer for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. The award-winning studio is currently hiring a Gameplay Capture Artist, and the timing of the posting has many players convinced a new look at the highly anticipated sci-fi adventure could be on the horizon.

The studio’s first new IP in over ten years, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet debuted at The Game Awards in December 2024, instantly generating massive hype. Set on an alien world, the title marks a departure from Naughty Dog’s familiar territory in The Last of Us and Uncharted. Directed by Neil Druckmann, the game boasts a cast including Tony Dalton and Tati Gabrielle, with Gabrielle playing protagonist Jordan A. Mun.

According to the listing, the temporary Gameplay Capture Artist role involves producing both cinematic and gameplay footage for marketing materials. While no specific title is mentioned, Naughty Dog notes it is “currently busy” with Intergalactic, and even used promotional imagery from the game when sharing the listing on social media. This has only fueled speculation that a trailer featuring new gameplay could arrive soon.

At present, Naughty Dog has two confirmed projects in development—Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet and another unannounced IP. Although the capture artist role could be tied to either, the focus on Intergalactic in the job announcement has fans leaning toward the former. Many are now predicting that the next trailer might premiere during The Game Awards on December 11 or possibly at an upcoming PlayStation Showcase.

In the meantime, the gaming world has its eyes on Gamescom, running from August 20 to 24. While PlayStation is unlikely to appear, Xbox is expected to share updates on its upcoming Asus-partnered handheld PCs during the event.
