The long-awaited Mesa update for Peak arrived on August 11, bringing the game’s first new biome since its June launch. Alongside the new location, players also received fresh badges, items, a bug-phobia mode for Mesa, and multiple bug fixes. Unfortunately, excitement quickly turned into frustration when players discovered an invisible wall blocking their path, making it impossible to progress in the new area.
Reports began flooding in shortly after the update went live, with many players encountering the invisible barrier during the final stretch of their climb. This meant hours of effort were wasted, as the issue completely halted progress. Frustrated fans quickly shared their experiences on social media, tagging developer Aggro Crab to demand a fix.
To their credit, Aggro Crab acted fast. Within an hour of the first major report, the studio confirmed that a patch was in development. Soon after, update 1.21 was released on Steam, resolving the invisible wall issue. Players affected by the bug have been advised to install the patch before attempting Mesa again.

While some players expressed disappointment that such a game-breaking issue slipped past testing, the developer’s quick turnaround helped smooth tensions. The situation was particularly frustrating for some because the previous biome, Alpine, was temporarily unavailable during Mesa’s first week. Thankfully, Aggro Crab has announced that maps will soon rotate between Mesa and Alpine, allowing fans to revisit both.
With the invisible wall removed, players can finally explore Mesa as intended — hopefully without any further obstacles blocking their adventure.
