Saber Interactive has officially announced that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will be receiving its Anniversary Update (Patch 10) on September 4, 2025, marking one year since the game’s release. Alongside this update, the studio revealed a full Year 2 roadmap, extending into mid-2026, with new content, features, and fan-requested additions on the horizon.
Space Marine 2’s Journey So Far
Released in September 2024, Space Marine 2 quickly carved out a place for itself in the Warhammer gaming universe. Critics and fans praised the game’s brutal melee and ranged combat, cinematic presentation, and faithful adaptation of the 40K universe. While the campaign’s short runtime and limited endgame options sparked debate, Saber Interactive has kept players invested through a steady stream of free gameplay updates and optional cosmetic DLC. Over the past year, patches have introduced new modes, balance changes, quality-of-life upgrades, and improved progression systems, ensuring that the experience has grown significantly since launch.
Patch 10: The Anniversary Update
Launching September 4, the Anniversary Update will introduce a variety of new content designed to expand both the single-player and multiplayer experience. A new story mission will be added, giving fans another taste of the game’s campaign. On the multiplayer side, players can dive into a brand-new PvE mode, Stratagems, as well as a chaotic PvP mode, Helbrute Onslaught. These modes will be supported by new maps, enemies, weapons, and progression systems, creating more reasons for both casual and hardcore players to return.
Another headline addition is the long-awaited Champion skin customization system, allowing players to mix and match armor pieces across different Champions. Cosmetic packs will also continue, with the Chaos Armor Pack included in the update, while Season Pass 2 will add a Black Templars Champion Pack for the Bulwark class and the Imperial Fists Cosmetic Pack, featuring over 40 items.

Each patch promises new gameplay content, but perhaps the most exciting reveal is that Patch 12 (Q1 2026) will finally introduce the long-rumored Techmarine class, giving players access to a new support-focused playstyle with unique mechanics. This addition answers months of speculation within the community.
Other roadmap highlights include continued expansions to PvE and PvP content, additional customization systems, and balance improvements. By the time Patch 15 arrives in Q2 2026, Space Marine 2 is expected to be a significantly larger and more robust experience than at launch.
