It seems that fans of Silent Hill 2 Remake might be in for some disappointing news. Despite months of speculation and excitement about a potential Born From a Wish DLC, recent comments from one of the game’s main voice actors suggest that no such expansion is currently in development. 😔
When Silent Hill 2 Remake launched on October 8, 2024, fans praised Bloober Team for their faithful recreation of the legendary horror title while enhancing it with modern visuals and gameplay improvements. Since then, the community has been eagerly hoping for additional content — particularly a remake of Born From a Wish, the side story originally starring Maria, which was featured in special editions of the 2001 classic.
However, during a recent Twitch stream, voice actress Salóme Gunnarsdóttir, who voices Maria in the remake, seemed to pour cold water on the DLC rumors. When asked by fans about Born From a Wish, she apologized and explained that she hadn’t recorded any new dialogue or been contacted by Bloober Team about additional content. She also stated that she had “no idea” whether a DLC was even planned.
These remarks directly contradict earlier reports from known leaker Dusk Golem, who claimed in June 2025 that the DLC was “in production” and an official announcement was “just around the corner.” Nearly four months later, there’s still been no update from Konami or Bloober Team, leaving many to wonder if the expansion was ever real to begin with.
If Gunnarsdóttir’s comments are accurate, it’s unlikely that a Born From a Wish remake is anywhere close to release — if it exists at all. In the original Silent Hill 2, the side story followed Maria as she explored her own psychological torment, serving as a haunting parallel to James Sunderland’s main narrative. Its absence in the remake has long been one of the biggest requests from fans.
Still, there’s a chance that the actress may simply be under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), meaning she’s not allowed to speak about unannounced projects. Game studios often keep voice actors in the dark about upcoming expansions until they’re ready to record new material, so a surprise reveal later on can’t be completely ruled out.
