Capcom has finally lifted the curtain on the highly anticipated Title Update 3 for Monster Hunter Wilds, confirming during its Tokyo Game Show 2025 showcase that the update will launch on Monday, September 29. Headlining the patch is the long-awaited Final Fantasy 14 crossover event, bringing one of the MMORPG’s most iconic superbosses into the world of Monster Hunter. As if that weren’t enough, Capcom also teased that Gogmazios, the massive volcanic Elder Dragon, will return as part of Title Update 4 in December.
Omega Planetes Joins the Hunt
The central attraction of the crossover is the introduction of a new hunt against Omega Planetes, a mechanical juggernaut pulled straight from Final Fantasy 14. True to its origins, Omega will wield familiar attacks including the devastating Delta Attack and a barrage of projectiles designed to test even the most seasoned hunters. Players eager to challenge this fight must reach Hunter Rank 41 or higher and complete the story quest “What Lies Ahead”.
Rewards and New Gear
Victorious hunters won’t walk away empty-handed. Rewards include:
-
Dark Knight weapon and Bale Armor α set, unlocking the skill The Blackest Night, which sacrifices health to create a shield.
-
Shadowbringer great sword, adding a new weapon skill for devastating combos.
-
Soul of the Pictomancer, granting access to a magical paintbrush that casts unique abilities such as Creature Motif and Mog of the Ages.
-
Cosmetic extras including a Morbol Seedling minion and a Chocobo-inspired Seikret skin.
This collaboration continues the tradition of crossover events blending Monster Hunter with other major franchises, while offering both challenging gameplay and exclusive fan-service rewards.
Seasonal Events and More Content
Title Update 3 isn’t limited to crossover content. The patch also launches the Festival of Accord: Dreamspell seasonal event, adding fresh Palico armor, emotes, and new activities. Additionally, hunters will face a new challenge in the form of Arch-Tempered Nu Udra, beginning on October 22.
Gogmazios Returns in December
Perhaps the biggest surprise came at the end of the showcase: the confirmation that Gogmazios, first introduced in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate on the Nintendo 3DS, will make a long-awaited return in Title Update 4 this December. Known for its volcanic armor and explosive attacks, Gogmazios is expected to bring a high-level challenge that veterans of the series won’t want to miss.
What’s Next for Monster Hunter Wilds?
Capcom’s TGS spotlight is only the beginning. The company also announced plans for a 90-minute showcase at New York Comic-Con on October 10, suggesting that even more surprises for Monster Hunter Wilds are on the horizon. With crossover events, seasonal festivals, and iconic monsters returning, the coming months promise to be action-packed for fans of the franchise.
