Behavior Interactive has officially unveiled the next chapter in its long-running multiplayer horror game, Dead by Daylight, titled the Sinister Grace update. Scheduled to arrive with patch 9.2.0 later this September, the update will introduce a brand-new killer inspired by Thai folklore, along with a fresh survivor who brings a unique cultural flavor to the roster.

As the asymmetrical survival horror title approaches its 10th anniversary, the developers show no signs of slowing down. Over the years, Dead by Daylight has expanded dramatically, keeping its community engaged with a steady stream of killers and survivors pulled from both pop culture and original lore. Sinister Grace continues this tradition with one of the game’s most unusual and terrifying designs yet.

The New Killer: The Krasue

The headline addition of this update is The Krasue, a nightmarish figure rooted in Southeast Asian mythology. Known in folklore as a floating female head with trailing entrails, Dead by Daylight’s version reimagines her as a tragic character named Burong Sukapat, who struck a cursed bargain that transformed her into the monstrous being.

The Krasue is designed to play unlike any killer before her, with the ability to switch between two distinct forms:

  • Disembodied Head Form: She hovers through the map and unleashes an Intestinal Whip attack, striking survivors from a distance.

  • Human Form: In this state, she uses a Vomit ability that weakens survivors, making them far more vulnerable to follow-up attacks from her alternate form.

Her perks are equally menacing:

  • Hex: Overture of Doom curses the farthest generator, throwing survivors into panic when attempting repairs and granting the killer Undetectable status.

  • Ravenous activates once she hooks each survivor at least once, causing global screams and applying the Exposed debuff.

  • Wandering Eye reveals the auras of all nearby survivors during a chase, letting players identify and target weaker victims.

The New Survivor: Vee Boonyasak

Alongside this terrifying killer comes Vee Boonyasak, a drummer for the fictional band Axekick. She embodies a survivor with a musical twist, almost functioning like a bard who motivates her team through rhythm and energy.

Her perks reflect this theme:

  • Ghost Notes reduces exhaustion recovery time and conceals scratch marks more quickly.

  • ONE-TWO-THREE-FOUR! channels her band spirit, triggering a group performance that energizes teammates and introduces a wave of bonus skill checks.

  • Road Life rewards survivors with tokens for completing Great Skill Checks while injured, and these tokens can later be spent to heal a full health state.

When to Play the Update

Both The Krasue and Vee Boonyasak are available for early testing right now in the Public Test Build (PTB). For those who want to experience their full abilities, the official launch will come with patch 9.2.0 later in September 2025.

With its mix of chilling folklore, inventive mechanics, and a cultural touchstone rarely seen in gaming, the Sinister Grace update ensures Dead by Daylight remains as unpredictable and horrifying as ever. Whether you’re eager to terrorize as the Krasue or rally your team with Vee’s musical energy, the upcoming content proves that even a decade into its run, Dead by Daylight continues to evolve in terrifying new ways.
