Ready or Not Surpasses 3 Million Console Players as VOID Interactive Celebrates Major Milestone

VOID Interactive has announced that its tactical first-person shooter Ready or Not has officially surpassed three million players on consoles, marking a massive success for the title just weeks after it launched on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 this past July. The figure comes on top of the game’s strong PC presence, where it first debuted in Steam Early Access before officially releasing in late 2023. Combined with its PC audience, Ready or Not has now attracted more than 13 million players worldwide.

A Tactical FPS With a Unique Identity

Unlike traditional online shooters that often prioritize fast-paced run-and-gun action, Ready or Not distinguishes itself with a slower, more deliberate approach. The game places players in the role of SWAT officers and emphasizes non-lethal takedowns, tactical decision-making, and teamwork.

Players can choose between solo missions or co-op with up to five players. The Commander Mode has received particular praise, offering an extra layer of depth by letting players manage their squad’s psychological health. Officers can suffer stress, fatigue, or burnout, and it’s the player’s responsibility to send them to therapy or manage their workload to prevent resignations. This thoughtful twist has helped Ready or Not stand out in a crowded FPS market.

Rapid Growth on Consoles

Reaching three million console players in under two months is a remarkable achievement, especially considering the game is not free-to-play. At a base price of $50, Ready or Not has managed to pull in an audience that rivals some of the genre’s biggest names.

On social media, VOID Interactive celebrated the milestone by thanking fans and highlighting the fact that the PC version alone accounts for nearly 10 million players. The studio also pointed out that physical editions of the game are rolling out to new regions. After releasing boxed copies across Europe, the UK, and Australia in August, physical versions are set to hit the United States on September 26.

Competition Ahead

The success of Ready or Not arrives during a competitive season for first-person shooters. Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 are both preparing for launch in October and November 2025. While those franchises carry significant brand recognition, they offer different gameplay flavors: Battlefield focuses on massive combined-arms warfare, while Call of Duty delivers a futuristic spin with high-tech combat.

Ready or Not, meanwhile, provides a grounded, modern-day tactical experience. This niche could help it maintain momentum even as juggernauts enter the market. Fans eager for updates can expect VOID Interactive to continue refining the experience, with additional content and improvements teased for the coming months.

Looking Ahead

From a modest early access release on PC to a console success story, Ready or Not has cemented itself as one of the most surprising FPS hits of the past two years. With over 13 million players globally and continued developer support, VOID Interactive’s tactical shooter is well on its way to becoming a long-term fixture in the genre.
