Blizzard Entertainment has officially unveiled Season 10 of Diablo 4, titled Infernal Chaos, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most ambitious seasonal updates yet. The highly anticipated season is scheduled to begin on September 23, 2025, and it promises a mix of new gameplay systems, fresh endgame challenges, and story-driven content designed to keep Sanctuary’s defenders on their toes.
Fans of the action RPG have been eagerly awaiting new content following the July release of Season 9, Sins of the Horadrim. While Season 9 introduced Horadric Strongrooms, Horadric Spells, and the Escalating Nightmares dungeon challenge, many players have spent the past few months wondering what Blizzard would deliver next. Season 10 answers that question with a fiery expansion of Diablo 4’s live-service experience.

What’s New in Season 10: Infernal Chaos
According to Blizzard’s September 16 Developer Update livestream, Infernal Chaos introduces a brand-new boss encounter with Bartuc, the infamous Warlord of Blood, who returns as the Lord of Chaos. Players will face him in a high-stakes battle that ties into the seasonal questline.
The season also debuts Chaos Rifts, dynamic portals that spawn throughout Helltides and Nightmare Dungeons, offering high-risk, high-reward encounters. Sealing these rifts grants unique loot and progression toward new Chaos Perks — class-specific upgrades that allow players to dramatically alter their builds.
Another highlight is the rework of the Infernal Hordes endgame mode. This wave-based activity now features higher difficulty scaling, improved enemy variety, and more meaningful rewards. The redesign also addresses a notorious co-op glitch from late 2024 that prevented couch players from finishing runs.
Blizzard confirmed that Infernal Chaos will also add new Chaos Armor, a fresh item tier that builds upon the game’s Unique items by offering randomized modifiers with thematic ties to the season. Together with the perks system, this ensures every class — from Sorcerers to Barbarians — will have new ways to experiment with builds.
A Promising Step for Diablo 4
Since its launch in 2023, Diablo 4 has seen steady seasonal updates, though not without criticism from the community. With Infernal Chaos, Blizzard seems committed to addressing past frustrations while raising the stakes for endgame play. Between a major new boss, revamped content, and systems that deepen class customization, Season 10 could be one of the game’s defining updates.
Season 10 of Diablo 4 officially launches on September 23, 2025, across all platforms: PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
