Epic Games continues to expand the ever-growing multiverse of Fortnite with an unexpected crossover that has fans buzzing. The battle royale giant has officially teamed up with the legendary anime franchise Yu-Gi-Oh, introducing a unique set of cosmetics that bring the world of Duel Monsters directly into the game. Known for its massive lineup of collaborations across movies, music, and pop culture icons, Fortnite is once again proving that no franchise is too big—or too nostalgic—to join the island.

This latest collaboration adds a stylish touch for fans of both Fortnite and anime. The highlight of the crossover is a brand-new pair of themed Kicks, the Nike Air Max 95 Yu-Gi-Oh! Jounichi, modeled after the shoes worn by Joey Wheeler, one of the most beloved characters in the series. Epic Games has gone the extra mile to honor the source material, even embedding the official Yu-Gi-Oh! logo on the soles of the sneakers. These anime-inspired cosmetics are available in Fortnite’s shop for a limited time, priced at 1,000 V-Bucks, and will remain accessible until September 26 at 8:00 P.M. local time.

Fortnite has a long history of embracing anime crossovers. Previous collaborations brought iconic heroes and worlds from Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, and My Hero Academia, along with special abilities like Goku’s Kamehameha or Deku’s Smash. By adding Yu-Gi-Oh to the mix, Epic Games further solidifies anime as a cornerstone of Fortnite’s identity. Players can expect the crossover to be more than just a one-off cosmetic drop, as it could serve as a teaser for even bigger Yu-Gi-Oh collaborations in the future—possibly including character skins, back bling, or themed weapons.

The surprise arrival of Yu-Gi-Oh also ties into Fortnite’s ongoing Chapter 6 Season 4, which has already welcomed several high-profile collaborations. Earlier in the season, Fortnite debuted its first crossover with One Punch Man, giving players the chance to unlock skins for Saitama, Genos, and Tatsumaki. Saitama even received a powerful Medallion within the Blitz Royale mode, capable of delivering devastating instant-kill attacks with a Pickaxe. With this level of attention to detail, fans are speculating whether Joey Wheeler’s introduction through the sneaker cosmetic might hint at future appearances of Yu-Gi-Oh duelists like Yugi Muto, Seto Kaiba, or even iconic duel monsters.

Beyond anime, Fortnite has continued to embrace wild and diverse collaborations. Leaks suggest more are on the horizon, ranging from Netflix’s upcoming K-Pop Demon Hunters movie to potential gaming crossovers with fan-favorites such as The Binding of Isaac and REPO. If the trend continues, Fortnite players could see even more unexpected franchises collide within the battle royale in the coming months.

For now, the Yu-Gi-Oh crossover stands out as one of the most nostalgic surprises Fortnite has offered this year. Fans eager to show off their love for the classic anime should grab the limited-time cosmetics while they last, as the opportunity to duel in style may not return anytime soon.
