Schedule 1 Teases Imminent Beta Launch for Cartel Update

The next big update for Schedule 1 is just around the corner, with developer Tyler (TVGS) revealing that the long-awaited Cartel update is 98% finished. While the last few tweaks are proving tricky, players won’t have to wait much longer, as the beta version is expected to drop within the next couple of days.

This update holds special significance — it’s the first piece of Schedule 1 content shaped entirely by community votes. Back in June, players chose between a Police Expansion, a Shrooms update, and a Rival Cartel update. The latter won by a landslide with 64% of the vote, promising to deliver a fresh mid-to-late-game challenge for seasoned players.

In a recent post on X, Tyler thanked fans for their patience while admitting the Cartel update took a little longer than planned. Originally intended for release earlier this week, the update missed its target date, but Tyler assured players he’s working hard to improve accuracy in future timelines. Development delays are understandable, given that Schedule 1 is still largely a one-person project.

Once the beta is live, it’s unclear how long it will remain in testing before rolling out to all players. Following its launch, fans can likely expect another vote to determine the next major addition to the game.

For those hoping for a full release soon, the wait will be longer — Schedule 1 is still two to three years away from leaving Early Access, even with plans to expand the team. Still, the game’s current version offers plenty of chaotic, addictive fun, and the Cartel update looks set to make it even better.
