Marvel Rivals is gearing up for another major content drop as Season 4, titled Heart of the Dragon, has been officially revealed. The latest cinematic trailer confirms that two iconic Marvel characters—Daredevil and Angela—will soon be joining the ever-expanding roster. The new season goes live on Friday, September 12, marking another milestone for NetEase’s ambitious hero shooter.
When Marvel Rivals first launched late last year, it was celebrated as one of the strongest challengers to Blizzard’s Overwatch. While the initial hype has naturally leveled off, the game has managed to maintain a loyal player base thanks to frequent updates, community-driven balance tweaks, and a steady flow of new maps and heroes. Each season has introduced fresh content, and Season 4 looks set to continue this tradition in a big way.
The new trailer gives fans a first look at what Daredevil and Angela may bring to the battlefield. Daredevil, known for his heightened senses and mastery of martial arts, seems to wield his signature billy clubs with fluid precision. The footage also suggests he might have a swift dash mechanic and possibly even a “marking” ability that can debilitate enemies. Angela, on the other hand, looks to embrace her Asgardian roots, equipped with a spear and celestial-themed attacks. The trailer hints at ranged spear projectiles, light-based abilities, and even some form of crowd control that binds opponents.
One of the big questions going into Season 4 is the role classification of these new heroes. Marvel Rivals currently has more DPS characters than any other role, so many speculate Daredevil will naturally slide into the DPS category, while Angela could balance things out as a Tank. Still, nothing is set in stone, and full ability breakdowns should be unveiled before launch.
For those less familiar with the newcomers:
-
Angela first appeared in Todd McFarlane’s Spawn comics before being brought into Marvel continuity through Neil Gaiman. She was later revealed as Thor’s long-lost sister, making her one of the most powerful Asgardians in the Marvel Universe.
-
Daredevil, aka Matt Murdock, is a blind vigilante from Hell’s Kitchen, New York. His sharp senses, acrobatics, and combat expertise have made him one of Marvel’s most iconic street-level heroes.
Marvel Rivals has already expanded its lineup considerably since launch. Season 1 introduced the Fantastic Four and two additional maps. Season 2 followed with Emma Frost, Ultron, and Krakoa. Season 3 turned up the heat with Phoenix and Blade. Now, Season 4 will push the envelope further by spotlighting Daredevil and Angela.
With Heart of the Dragon around the corner, the Marvel Rivals community has plenty to be excited about. Whether you’re a returning player or a newcomer ready to try out Marvel’s take on the hero shooter genre, Season 4 promises fast-paced action, intriguing new characters, and another reason to dive back into one of the most dynamic live-service games on the market.
