Blizzard has announced a new community event for Diablo 4 fans, the “Sanctuary Sitdown,” scheduled for August 14. This fresh format will take the place of the studio’s familiar Campfire Chat livestreams, offering players a different way to hear about upcoming content and changes.
Since its 2023 release, Diablo 4 has steadily received seasonal updates—some more celebrated than others. Season 10 is slated to begin on September 23, with the 2.4.0 Public Test Realm (PTR) expected to arrive beforehand, giving players an early look at what’s next.
The Sanctuary Sitdown will begin at 11 AM PT on the Diablo 4 Sanctuary Discord channel, featuring developers Aislyn Hall, Charles Dunn, and Ben Fletcher. The team plans to cover “all things Diablo 4,” with many expecting the discussion to revolve around the 2.4.0 PTR, its features, and potentially its release date.

While Blizzard hasn’t outlined the full agenda, the event will likely focus on PTR details rather than broader game changes. Last month, the company confirmed there would be no major updates before Season 10—a decision that disappointed some players, though the proximity of the new season helps soften the news.
2025 has already been a year of transition for Diablo 4. Earlier in August, franchise head Rod Fergusson departed Blizzard after five years, during which he oversaw Diablo 4’s launch, the Vessel of Hatred DLC, Diablo 2: Resurrected, and Diablo Immortal. How this leadership change will shape the game’s future remains to be seen.
Season 10 will need to offer compelling content to keep players engaged, especially with competition heating up. Borderlands 4 launches on September 12, and other high-profile releases like Dying Light: The Beast and Silent Hill f are also arriving that month.
