Supergiant Games has officially released the first post-launch update for Hades 2, bringing with it a wave of bug fixes, gameplay adjustments, and balance tweaks. The patch, titled Hotfix 1, follows the highly successful debut of the game earlier this month and aims to smooth out some of the early frustrations that players have encountered.
Just like the original Hades, this sequel spent time in Early Access before its launch, allowing developers to fine-tune gameplay based on community feedback. That same philosophy is continuing post-release, with Supergiant responding quickly to feedback and pushing out updates to ensure a polished experience.
Hades 2 Hotfix 1 – Key Fixes and Changes
The patch may not be as large as the Day One update, but it carries important improvements. Among the biggest fixes is an adjustment to the Fields of Mourning mini-boss, Phantom, which had been frustrating players since launch. The Phantom’s ability to teleport around while dealing heavy damage made the fight overwhelming, especially since the creature could also drain health from summoned allies. This mechanic rendered support builds ineffective, leaving many players at a disadvantage.
Hotfix 1 has now removed the Phantom’s ability to drain health from raised allies, making the fight more manageable without taking away its challenging design.
Beyond that, the update also corrects multiple achievement issues, including problems where rewards like Soothing Soak and So Mote It Be weren’t unlocking correctly. Supergiant also fixed several narrative scripting issues involving Hecate, as well as unusual behaviors like Hecuba endlessly running back and forth in Narcissus’ chamber.
The update includes dozens of smaller bug fixes, improvements to translations across multiple languages, and better compatibility for players using the Chinese Input Method.
