Capcom has officially confirmed that C. Viper will join the Street Fighter 6 roster on October 15, marking the highly anticipated return of one of the series’ most iconic characters. The announcement was made during Capcom’s Tokyo Game Show 2025 showcase, where the publisher highlighted not only Viper’s gameplay but also a variety of new updates and collaborations for its major franchises.
C. Viper Gameplay Reveal
The two-minute gameplay trailer gave fans their first detailed look at how C. Viper plays in Street Fighter 6. True to her roots, the intelligence agent brings back her electrifying toolkit, including the Burning Kick and Seismic Hammer, enhanced by her high-tech gadgets that allow for shock and fire damage. Her trademark high-heeled boots also make a return, letting her perform extended jumps and flashy aerial combos. To please longtime fans, Capcom also showcased Viper’s classic Street Fighter IV costume, which can be equipped in-game.
Players who own the Year 3 Ultimate Pass or Character Pass will automatically unlock C. Viper on day one, while others can purchase her individually using Fighter Coins, Street Fighter 6’s premium currency.
More DLC Characters on the Horizon
Capcom also reminded fans that Viper is just the beginning of the next wave of content. Characters like Alex and Ingrid are scheduled to arrive in Winter and Spring, though no exact release dates have been shared yet.
Additional Street Fighter 6 Content
Street Fighter wasn’t the only star of Capcom’s showcase, but it was clearly a centerpiece. Alongside C. Viper, Capcom revealed a brand-new fourth costume for Zangief. The outfit, titled Mech Zangie-F, is a throwback to his mechanical-inspired look from past Street Fighter spin-offs and will also release on October 15.
Collaborations and Crossovers
Capcom also surprised fans with two unexpected collaborations:
-
A partnership with Cavalera Conspiracy, the heavy metal band, timed with the release of Zangief’s new outfit.
-
A crossover with Banshee’s Last Cry, a visual novel celebrating its 30th anniversary. As part of the event, players will get access to a unique World Tour scenario, special Battle Hub UI elements, and collectible items such as spectral blue character skins inspired by the classic game.
A Packed Showcase
The Tokyo Game Show event was full of announcements beyond Street Fighter. Fans also got new looks at Pragmata, Resident Evil Requiem, Onimusha, and Monster Hunter. In addition, Capcom rolled out a special TGS promotion, offering up to 50% off select titles, further fueling excitement among its community.
The Future of Street Fighter 6
Now more than two years after launch, Street Fighter 6 remains a cornerstone of Capcom’s lineup. With constant updates, seasonal events, and the addition of legacy fighters like Sagat earlier this year, the game shows no signs of slowing down. C. Viper’s long-awaited comeback promises to shake up the competitive scene once again, giving fans new strategies and matchups to explore.
October 15 is shaping up to be a major day for Street Fighter fans, with not only C. Viper’s arrival but also fresh content, crossovers, and cosmetic updates to keep the community engaged well into 2025.
