Niantic has officially revealed the Pokemon GO September 2025 content roadmap, and trainers around the world have plenty to look forward to. This month will feature the highly anticipated debut of Mega Sharpedo, a wave of returning Kanto favorites, rotating Mega Evolutions, themed events, and a new season that kicks off with a bang.
For years, Pokemon GO has relied on its monthly update cycle to keep the game fresh, with rotating raids, Spotlight Hours, bonuses, and seasonal events giving players new goals to chase. September 2025 will continue that trend, while also introducing some exciting twists that long-time fans won’t want to miss.
Mega Sharpedo Makes Its Long-Awaited Debut
The highlight of September is without a doubt the arrival of Mega Sharpedo. The ferocious Water/Dark-type Pokémon will debut on September 7 as part of a special Pokemon GO Raid Day. This limited-time event will run from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time, offering players three hours to challenge and capture this brand-new Mega Evolution.
Even better, Mega Sharpedo will be available in its shiny form right from launch. Players who participate in raids will have a boosted chance to encounter a shiny, although, as always, the result will be determined after completing the raid. The shiny debut during a Raid Day is a welcome change for collectors and shiny hunters, adding extra incentive to join the action.
Rotating Mega Raids Throughout the Month
In addition to Sharpedo’s debut, September will also feature a robust lineup of Mega Raid rotations that bring back fan-favorite Pokémon.
