Borderlands 4 Players Can Claim Free "Cult Classic" Amon Skin With New SHiFT Code

Following the latest community event in Borderlands 4, Gearbox Software has once again shown its appreciation for the fanbase by releasing a brand-new cosmetic reward. Players can now unlock Amon’s "Cult Classic" skin absolutely free using a new SHiFT code. This reward comes as part of Gearbox’s continued effort to keep the Borderlands community engaged through unique events, challenges, and giveaways.

The SHiFT system has long been a cornerstone of Gearbox’s player reward ecosystem. Originally debuting back in 2016, it was first integrated into Battleborn before becoming a major part of the Borderlands franchise. Through this platform, players have been able to redeem countless in-game bonuses — from Golden Keys and weapon packs to special limited-time skins and other cosmetic items.

As with previous titles, SHiFT codes for Borderlands 4 can be redeemed directly via the official website. Once activated, the rewards will appear in-game, ready to claim from designated Golden Skull chests located across several main areas, such as The Launchpad, Belton’s Bore, Carcadia, and The Lockaway.

The newest community challenge, which concluded this past weekend, tasked players with collectively defeating 300,000 Vault Bosses. The community not only met this goal but absolutely crushed it, achieving over 839,000 total kills. As a result, everyone now has access to the new SHiFT code that unlocks Amon’s "Cult Classic" skin — inspired by his dark and mysterious backstory revealed in his Demons origin short.

This isn’t the first time Gearbox has used these events to celebrate its player base. Just last week, another challenge rewarded fans with the “Savings Savior” skin for Rafa after the community earned more than 23 million second winds, far surpassing the 20 million target. These regular events not only offer exciting rewards but also strengthen the cooperative spirit that defines the Borderlands community.

Looking ahead, it’s highly likely that characters such as Vex and Harlowe will soon take the spotlight in upcoming challenges, giving players even more opportunities to unlock exclusive cosmetics tied to their respective stories.

In addition to community-driven events, Borderlands 4 recently rolled out its first major balance patch, focusing on improving underperforming builds rather than nerfing powerful ones. Every character received some degree of enhancement, but Amon in particular benefited from multiple buffs aimed at increasing the impact of his action skills. Gearbox also addressed several technical and performance-related issues affecting PC players, alongside minor adjustments to weekly activities.

For now, players can enjoy the satisfaction of another successful community event and grab this free skin while it’s still available. With Gearbox continuing to roll out frequent updates and rewards, there’s never been a better time to dive back into the chaotic world of Borderlands 4.
